Skate Saskatchewan Program Coordinator Job Posting
Skate Canada Saskatchewan is seeking a Program Coordinator for a full-time position. The Program Coordinator will lead the development, organization, implementation and ongoing evaluation of programs that support and engage skaters within the community, the STAR pathway, and transitioning to the podium pathway.
Skate Canada Saskatchewan is a nonprofit provincial sport governing body affiliated with Skate Canada. Serving over 7,000 members across 97 clubs and skating schools, the organization supports the growth and development of skating through quality programs, training, and competition opportunities. Guided by a commitment to integrity, inclusion, collaboration, and excellence, Skate Canada Saskatchewan works closely with clubs, coaches, and officials to strengthen and advance skating across the province.
We offer a competitive salary (salary range $52,000 to $70,000 per annum) for 37.5 hours per week, benefits and vacation time.
The Program Director plays a key role in strengthening pathways by creating meaningful development opportunities, enhancing engagement, and contributing to a positive and inclusive sport experience for all skaters. The position includes coordinating events, managing program logistics, supporting communication, and monitoring program effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement and longterm sustainability of engaging Saskatchewan lives through skating. This position works collaboratively with the Executive Director; High Performance Director; Board of Directors; various committees such as the Athlete Development, Skating Programs, Membership, Coach Development; and other stakeholders.
This position requires excellent communication, organization and collaborative skills. Applicants must have an in-depth understanding of skating programs including the STAR and podium pathway to ensure overall success in the position. Preference may be given to candidates with Skate Canada Provincial Coach Trained certification or higher. Equivalent combinations of education, training and experience will be considered.
Examples of responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Recognize and connect potential skaters to the Prospect Program and the Podium pathway.
- Collaborate on and execute events for the Prospect Program, Skating Programs and community engagement events.
- Attend section led events, events and community engagement initiatives
- Creation of content for stakeholder communications
- Attend committee, and Board of Director meetings as required.
