The NCCP Regional Coach context prepares coaches to teach figure skating at the Learn to Train stage of development. Coaches will also be trained to deliver the STAR 1-5 program. Planning is introduced for lessons, sessions and training. Skill corrective exercises are emphasized through exploration of technique, biomechanics and training strategies. Regional Coaches are eligible to coach figure skating at all levels.
Pre-Requisites
- Be a current Skate Canada registrant with a Skate Canada Club or a registered Coach in good standing.
- Has passed one complete Star 6 assessment or Star 5 Freeskate assessment plus one additional Star 5 assessment.
- Has completed the following Skate Canada eLearning training:
- Part A – Coaching Foundations eLearning course
- Part B – CanSkate Foundations eLearning course
- Part C – Regional Foundations eLearning course
- Has completed the 2-day CanSkate Course
