Return to Skating Update

Posted in Covid-19 / Return to Skating

Updated Return to Skating Guidelines have been emailed to all clubs and registered coaches. We would like to draw your attention to the following revisions:

  • Skaters, coaches, parents, program assistants, officials and volunteers may have a daily verbal screening for symptoms upon arrival at the facility and before participation.
  • That effective September 1st, 2020 CanSkate be allowed to proceed under the following conditions:
    • Pre-CanSkate (Including Parent and Tot)
      • Parent and Tot (parent must reside in the same household as child)
      • Inclusion of athletes of Pre-CanSkate without a parent who can move unassisted forward and backward and get up on their own.  Skater must understand the concept of physical distancing
    • CanSkate (Stages 1 – 6)
      • Participant numbers to be determined according to current guidelines set out by the Government of Saskatchewan
      • Inclusion of athletes who have not been in CanSkate before but can move unassisted forward and backward and get up on their own.  Skater must understand the concept of physical distancing

Please remember that this situation is fluid and the guidelines may change throughout the skating season.  It is important that your club is following the restrictions/guidelines of the federal, provincial, municipal government as well as the arena.
